Pistons guard Chauncey Billups had a successful arthroscopic surgical procedure on his left knee on Thursday.
The Detroit News first reported on Wednesday that Billups would need the surgery, and that a date for his likely return is not determined.
The procedure was done by the Pistons’ team orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Stephen Lemos, at DMC Surgical Hospital in Madison Heights. The Pistons said the surgery was to smooth irregularities in the meniscus and alleviate pain.
Billups will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks.
