A look at one of Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander's new rides, the Lamborghini Aventador, which retails for around $400,000. (Elizabeth Conley / Detroit News)

There’s no reason I can think of why Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander shouldn’t have his expensive cars.
He makes enough money to afford any vehicle he could possibly want, and as he has said, he’s always dreamed of having a collection of driving machines.
If he didn’t do what he does for charity, especially for returning veterans, it might be different — but he does, so it isn’t.
With fast cars, though, there’s also fast driving. Verlander doesn’t have a Ferrari to look at it. He doesn’t have a Lamborghini to keep it clean.
He drives them — and he drives them fast.
So fast, in fact, that when he was asked this week what’s the fastest he’s ever driven, he basically said, “Next question.”
To which everyone no doubt responds by thinking this: “Be careful, Justin. Just be careful.”
