East Lansing – While Michigan State continues to wait on a signed letter of intent from Southfield’s Malik McDowell, it was also waiting on word from junior college offensive tackle David Hedelin, who had committed to Michigan State in December.
But on Thursday, Purdue announced that it had signed Hedelin to its 2014 class. At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Hedelin, originally from Sweden, is a four-star recruit, according to 247sports.com.
Michigan State did pick up three-star offensive lineman Miguel Machado of Pasadena (Calif.) City College the day after National Signing Day. Machado, a 6-6, 290-pound tackle, was originally committed to Purdue before settling on Michigan State.
