Oak Park — Michigan State Police have released the names of two people killed in a three-car crash that also injured three other people Thursday afternoon.
The crashed occurred at about 3:25 p.m. on M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) near Bordman Road in Bruce Township.
An investigation by the state police has concluded a 2014 GMC Traverse was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Van Dyke when it struck a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling northbound.
A 2010 Chrysler, which was following the Chevrolet, was also involved in the crash.
The dead driver of the 2014 GMC has been identified as Dick Allen Versendaal, 76, of Byron Center. There were no passengers in his vehicle.
Also killed was the driver of the 2006 Chevrolet who has been identified as Wendy Ann Knight-Goboly, 57, of Leonard. One of her passengers, a 33-year-old woman from Dryden, was slightly injured.
Another passenger, a 3-year-old boy from Dryden, was seriously injured.
The driver of the 2010 Chrysler, a 44-year-old woman from Imlay City, was slightly injured in the incident.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but police noted none of the adults were wearing seat belts.
