Police: Troy man was driving drunk with daughter, marijuana in vehicle

Troy — Police arrested a man suspected of drunken driving with his 5-year-old daughter in the vehicle after he fled the scene of a traffic accident.

Officers were called at 8:21 p.m. Friday to the scene of a hit-and-run crash at Bellingham and Maple, police said.

When police found the believed responsible driver, a 43-year-old Troy man, he stopped for officers and informed them he didn’t have a license.

Police also discovered empty liquor bottles, a marijuana pipe and marijuana inside the vehicle. His daughter also was seated in the backseat.

The man was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, failure to stop at an accident, child endangerment, and operating while intoxicated: third offense.

As of Tuesday morning, police said the results of a blood draw conducted on the suspect were still pending.
