Mike Farley announced Friday he will resign as head football coach at Grand Haven and has accepted a position as offensive coordinator at South Effingham High in Guyton, Ga.
Farley spent eight seasons at Grand Haven and compiled a 44-32 record. His teams made the playoffs three times, but Grand Haven was only 5-13 over the last two seasons.
“My family is from the South,” Farley said. “My wife is from Kentucky, so she’s been looking to get back to the South.
“This is a great opportunity for me. I’ll coach under Donnie Revell, who was my coach in college (Olivet Nazarene University), and he’s been a great mentor to me.”
Farley said he could possibly take over when Revell, 61, decides to move on.
