Detroit police cars damaged from vandalism

Detroit — Four police patrol cars were damaged from vandalism Tuesday morning. The vehicles were located in a precinct's parking lot on the city’s west side, according to a department spokesman.

Police at 7 a.m. Tuesday discovered three older-model Ford Crown Victorias with broken windows and a newer-edition Chevrolet Caprice with pry marks on its door and the trunk at the Sixth Precinct at 11450 Warwick St., Officer Adam Madera said.

“Looks like they cut a hole through the fence,” Madera said.

Nothing was taken from the cars, he said.

Investigators are expected to review video footage from the precinct’s surveillance cameras on Wednesday.

No description was available on the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Detroit police at (313) 596-5640.
