Meridian, Miss. — Auto parts manufacturer Tower International has announced it will add 83 jobs in Meridian as part of a $15 million expansion.
Gov. Phil Bryant and Tower officials made the announcement Thursday.
Livonia-based Tower says it is adding new stamping and assembly processes in its existing 410,000- square-foot Meridian plant. The company employs about 240 people in Meridian.
Jim Bernard, Tower’s president of the Americas Region, says in a news release the expansion will accommodate existing and new contracts.
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for infrastructure improvements and building modifications. Lauderdale County and the city of Meridian provided assistance, as well.
In addition to Meridian, Tower has an operation in Madison, Mississippi, where it has more than 250 employees.
