Here’s what you need to know:

■ The Tigers are coming off a walk-off, 3-1 loss to the Athletics on Wednesday night. Detroit has see-sawed the second half of May; the last time the Tigers won back-to-back games was May 17-18 in Boston.

■ Thursday’s Tigers starter, Rick Porcello, was shelled in his last start May 24 against the Rangers at Comerica Park, allowing eight runs on 12 hits in 513 innings. However, Porcello is 4-1 with a 3.62 earned-run average on the road this season.

■ Anibal Sanchez put together his best start of the season Wednesday but came away with a no-decision. Sanchez allowed one run on three hits in 8.1 innings.
