Warren — While friends, family and police continue their search for a 51-year-old woman missing since May 14, her husband remains in the Macomb County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic violence.
Police say Kimberly Ann Dejohn disappeared from her home on Sherwood after getting into a physical altercation with her husband, Loyd Dejohn.
“It’s a real mystery,” Deputy Police Commissioner Louis Galasso said Wednesday. “According to Mr. Dejohn, that’s the last time anyone saw her, including himself. From what we’ve been able to gather, Mr. Dejohn said some type of injury supposedly had occurred to his wife and she received treatment for it.
“He wasn’t able to substantiate what type of injury it was and was vague about the treatment.”
Authorities said Dejohn acknowledged he never filed a missing person report. A report was finally filed by a sister of Kimberly Dejohn, who was concerned about her absence.
“Mr. Dejohn was arrested based on statements he made along with some evidence we found at the home,” said Galasso, who declined to go into any greater detail about the evidence.
Galasso confirmed the Warren Police Department had contact with Loyd Dejohn, but Galasso declined to go into detail.
Dejohn was arrested May 30 and arraigned on aggravated domestic assault the same day. He remains in jail after failing to post a $500,000 bond.
“Mrs. Dejohn’s family has been very cooperative and forthcoming,” Galasso said.
Kimberly Ann Dejohn is described as 5-foot, 5-inches, about 165 pounds with brown eyes and hair and tattoos.
