Allen Park – Pretty good week for the Lions’ Kyle Van Noy. On Saturday, he will marry his long-time love, former Miss Utah Marissa Powell. On Wednesday, he got a nice wedding present from his employer.
The Lions signed Van Noy, their second-round pick in last month’s draft, to a four-year rookie contract. He received a reported $2 million signing bonus.
“It's official!!!!” Van Noy tweeted, along with a picture of him signing the contract. “So blessed to have this opportunity! Hard work pays off!!!”
Van Noy, a versatile outside linebacker, has been impressive thus far throughout the OTAs.
“He’s going to be fine,” defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said on Tuesday. “It’s hard to tell right now with no pads and all this stuff, but he learns well, he can run. He has all the things that we thought when we drafted him.”
With Van Noy signed, only first-round pick tight end Eric Ebron remains unsigned.
