Royal Oak — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Radio Shack store Wednesday night during which three masked men forced two workers and a customer into a storage room at gunpoint and taped their hands behind them.
The victims said three black men wearing baseball caps, hoodies and nylons over their faces entered the store at 29610 Woodward Ave. about 6:33 p.m. and ordered the three victims into a storage room where they placed duct tape over their eyes and taped their hands behind them. No one was injured in the incident, police said.
The suspects made off with money from the cash register and about 50 cellular phones, police said.
A Troy police K-9 officer and dog followed a tracking scent to Benjamin Street where it is believed they entered a vehicle and left the area.
A similar armed robbery occurred at a Madison Heights Radio Shack earlier in the week.
Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspects involved is asked to call police at (248) 246-3456.
