Clinton Twp. police seek man in 7-Eleven holdup

Clinton Township Police are searching for a suspect who held a convenience store clerk at gunpoint in robbery this week.

The suspect jumped over the counter of a 7-Eleven in the 18700 block of 15 Mile, near Little Mack, at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, according to Clinton Township Sgt. Richard Maierle. The robber brandished a dark-colored handgun, pointed the weapon at the cashier and demanded money.

The suspect collected an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register before he locked the worker in a back room and fled northbound, Maierle said.

Police say the suspect is believed to be 20-25 years old, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8-inches tall, 150 pounds with a thin mustache. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a royal blue hooded jacket with white strings, dark athletic pants with a white stripe down the side, black sunglasses, white gloves and black shoes.
