Sheriff says mid-Michigan man shot at salesmen

Fremont Township — Authorities in mid-Michigan say a man fired shots at three traveling salesmen trying to interest him in a vacuum cleaner.

Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski says a 61-year-old man gestured for two of the men to wait after they knocked on the door of his Fremont Township home Thursday.

According to the sheriff, the salesmen got nervous and joined a third Kirby vacuum representative in their van when the man walked toward a pole barn.

Mioduszewski says the man came out of the barn with a long gun as the van drove away. One of the salesmen says he heard pellets “whiz” by the open driver’s side window.

No one was hurt.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports (http://bit.ly/1rRajHc ) deputies arrested the man on felonious assault charges.
