Trucker in Tracy Morgan crash was sleep deprived
The Georgia trucker who was involved in the car accident that critically injured comedian Tracy Morgan and killed his writing partner, James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, is being accused of having not slept for 24 hours before the crash. Kevin Roper was driving a Wal-Mart truck when he allegedly caused a six-vehicle accident early Saturday on the New Jersey Turnpike. Morgan, whose limo was part of the wreck, is expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks, ABC News reported. The “Saturday Night Live” actor suffered several broken bones in the crash. Roper, free on a $50,000 bond, is set to appear in court Wednesday on charges of vehicular homicide. According to the ABC News report, Wal-Mart put Roper on administrative leave and promised to take full responsibility if the accident is their driver’s fault.
