Hip-hop superstars Drake and Lil Wayne have announced a U.S. summer tour that will hit DTE Energy Music Theatre on Aug. 16.
Tickets for the show, billed as Drake vs. Lil Wayne, are $31-$121.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 20. A pre-sale for Citi card holders begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The 31-date tour, which launches Aug. 8 in Darien Center, N.Y., pulls together the Young Money label mates and frequent collaborators. Among their pairings is the recent “Believe Me.”
Drake’s most recent album, “Nothing Was the Same,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart and has sold 1.57 million copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Toronto rapper’s last area performance came in October 2013 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V” is tentatively due out later this year. His last area concert was in August 2013 at the Joe Louis Arena.
