Who’s hot …

Ezequiel Carrera, OF: This guy should be playing somewhere in the big leagues. Entering Sunday’s game, Carrera is batting .361 in his last 10 games and .322 on the season. James McCann, C: He will force the Tigers, and soon, to consider if he might be their long-term catcher. Very good behind the plate and incorporating scouting reports. And he has hit consistently at Double A and now at Erie: Entering Sunday’s game .343 in his last 10 games, .295 on the season.

Hernan Perez, 2B: .366 in his last 10 games before Sunday’s game and .280 on the season. Has quietly had a good season at Toledo. Perez, 23, very much remains in the big-league picture.
