Detroit police seek help identifying homicide victim with tattoo

Detroit — The city’s police department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a homicide victim who died some time in May.

According to police, the body of a man was found at about 4:30 p.m. partially encased in concrete in a garage at 15787 Freeman.

While the body remains unidentified, it did carry a distinctive tattoo on the forearm reading “R.I.P. Deisha 8-23-81-4-07-09.”

Anyone recognizing this tattoo, can identify the victim or has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at (313) 596-1616.

Additionally, the Wayne County Medical Examiners Office will conduct a DNA drive between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on June 26.

Family members of missing loved ones are asked to provide DNA samples from two biological donors as well as dental records, photographs, X-rays and police reports.

Previous DNA events have helped solve the identities of 26 missing people since 2011.
