Detroit — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old boy who went missing on Monday.

Charlie Bothuell was last seen when he left his home in the 1300 block of Nicolet Place at about 9 p.m.

Charlie’s father, Charles Bothuell IV, told police his son was working out when he stopped to go to the bathroom and never came back.

“He’s a very bright boy, very physically fit with a great personality and a sense of humor,” said Bothuell, who said he was home schooling his son. “He loves movies and is a sports fanatic. He knows all about the players, plus all the statistics. He’s like an encyclopedia.”

Charlie is 5-foot-4, weighs 120 pounds and has brown hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, black and gray pajama pants and a black and gray Phat Farm jacket.

Charlie is in good mental and physical condition.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1140.
