Michigan gives No. 2 to Blake Countess; Jabrill Peppers will wear 5

Ann Arbor ó Michigan awarded its No. 2 jersey for next season.

But it didnít go to heralded freshman cornerback Jabrill Peppers.

Junior cornerback Blake Countess will wear the number made famous by 1997 Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson.

Countess led the Big Ten with six interceptions last season.

Peppers will wear No. 5, which he will share with junior running back Justice Hayes.
