Grand Rapids — Authorities say a security guard has been shot in the leg outside a parking garage near a Grand Rapids hospital.
TV stations WOOD, WZZM and WWMT report the man had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after being wounded around 11 p.m. Sunday near Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. Police say the suspected shooter, a man, fled and is being sought.
Police say the shooting happened amid an investigation into possible theft from vehicles in the area.
Spectrum Health says Monday that the guard has been treated and released. It says access to the parking ramp has been fully restored.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police.
