Bicyclist shot near Palmer Park in Detroit in critical condition

Detroit A man shot in the back while riding his bicycle near Palmer Park early Wednesday morning remains in critical condition at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. along Woodward near Margareta, in an area between McNichols Road and Seven Mile.

The unidentified 45-year-old victim rode his bike past the shooter, described as someone the victim had previously seen in the neighborhood.

As he rode past, the perpetrator asked the victim his name. When the bicyclist responded, he was shot once in the back.

The shooter is described as a male, 5-foot-9, 140 pounds, unshaven with unkempt hair and wearing a white T-shirt, beige pants and armed with a 9 mm handgun.
