Sterling Heights — The United States has 44 new citizens after they were sworn in Friday at the Freedom Hill Banquet and Event Center. The new citizens came from 18 countries.
The event was part of the July Fourth holiday Stars and Stripes Festival. U.S. District Judge George Caram Steeh presided over the naturalization ceremony.
