George David resigns as Pistons assistant general manager

George David has resigned as assistant general manager of the Pistons.

David, who has held various front-office roles during his 17 years with the organization, was promoted to assistant GM in July 2012.

Stan Van Gundy was named Pistons head coach and president in May and soon thereafter Van Gundy appointed Jeff Bower general manager.

“George David has informed general manager Jeff Bower and I that he has made the decision to step down as assistant general manager,” said Van Gundy. “We wish George well in his future endeavors.”
