Red Wings hits and misses in free agency under Ken Holland

The Red Wings under general manager Ken Holland have usually been active in free agency each year. Some of Holland’s signings have been key acquisitions in the Red Wings’ Stanley Cup runs; some haven’t turned out so well.

Holland was a scout, director of amateur scouting, and assistant GM for the Red Wings before being promoted to GM in July 1997. Click through the gallery above or go here to see the best and worst of Detroit’s free-agent signings under Holland’s leadership.
