Television series “Ask Dr. Nandi” and “American Muscle” have been approved for film incentives from the state, the Michigan Film Office announced Tuesday.

Starring Michigan gym owner Mike Barwis, “American Muscle” was awarded an incentive of $308,869 on $1,253,682 of projected in-state expenditures.

It premieres Wednesday on the Discover Channel. Barwis used to work at University of Michigan as the director of strength and conditioning. “American Muscle” follows life in his gym as Barwis and his staff train pro athletes along with regular guys.

Season three of “Ask Dr. Nandi” is filming now in Farmington Hills. The show — awarded an incentive of $1,582,898 on $6,437,789 of projected in-state expenditures — is a physician talk show that airs on Impact Network, Doctor Television Channel and Diya TV.
