Here’s what you need to know:

■ The Tigers kick off a two-game interleague series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. They split a two-game series with the Dodgers in Los Angeles in April.

■ Outfielder Andy Dirks was expected to begin a rehabilitation assignment with Single A Lakeland on Tuesday. He has been out since undergoing back surgery March 29.

■ The Tigers announced the signings of three draft picks, all right-handed pitchers: Adam Ravenelle (fourth round, Vanderbilt), Artie Lewicki (eighth round, Virginia) and Whit Mayberry (21st round, Virginia).

■ The Dodgers put pitcher Josh Beckett on the disabled list Tuesday, hoping a short rest now can help him avoid a prolonged absence later in the season. Beckett left Sunday's game after five innings after aggravating a sore left hip while running the bases. He acknowledged after the game the hip has bothered him for several weeks.
