Michigan State's Geiger, Sadler, Allen on preseason watch lists for national awards

Three more Michigan State players have been named to preseason watch lists for national awards. Kicker Michael Geiger is on the Lou Groza Award list, punter Mike Sadler is on the Ray Guy Award list and center Jack Allen is on the Rimington Trophy list.

All three awards are presented to the top player at each position at the end of the regular season.

Geiger, a sophomore from Toledo, made 15 of 16 field goals and 36 PATs as a freshman in 2013. He was second on the team in scoring with 81 points.

Sadler, a senior from Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern, is entering his fourth season as the Spartansí No. 1 punter. He was first-team All-Big Ten in 2012 and 2013.

Allen, a junior from Hinsdale, Ill., was named second-team All-Big Ten last season.
