MSU's Jeremy Langford, EMU's Bronson Hill on watch list for top running back award

Michigan State’s Jeremy Langford and Eastern Michigan’s Bronson Hill, both seniors, are among 53 players on the preseason watch list for the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the top running back in the nation.

Langford, from Westland John Glenn, rushed for 1,422 yards and 18 TD last season. Hill, from Grand Rapids Catholic Central, had 1,101 yards and five TD in 2013.

Langford is one of eight Big Ten players on the Doak Walker list.

The others are Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah, Penn State’s Bill Belton, Minnesota’s David Cobb, Indiana’s Tevin Coleman, Illinois’ Josh Ferguson, Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon and Penn State’s Zach Zwinak.
