The Lions’ family received some good news this weekend.

Running back Joique Bell posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday showing that his older sister, Ambie Bell-Clayton, received a kidney transplant after a seven-year wait.

“After 7 Long Years We Made It,” Bell wrote about the photo of him and his sister. “Kidney Transplant Was A Success N My Big Sister Is HERE!!”

In a WXYZ-TV story last season, sports anchor Tom Leyden said Bell’s sister has been battling a form of kidney disease for years. Bell said his sister texts him before every game, “I fight, we fight,” and that Ambie is his “hero.”

Bell has been training in California and said in the post he flew to the hospital to support his sister, though didn’t mention where the hospital is.

“I Fight You Fight WE FIGHT!!! Thanks 4 All The Love N Prayers. ... We Living Over Here!” Bell wrote.

Bell and the other Lions veterans report for training camp in Allen Park on Sunday.
