Mosaic Youth Theatre choir wins gold, silver at world games

The Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit’s Mosaic Singers recently won gold and silver medals in the 2014 World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia.

Representing the United States, Mosaic Singers, ages 14 to 18, competed against hundreds of adult and youth choirs from 60 countries. The choir won gold in the Gospel (Champions Division) and Pop (Open Competition) categories and silver in the Spiritual (Champions Division) and Mixed Choirs, Youth (Open Competition) categories.

The games, which follow the Olympic ideals of excellence, friendship and respect, are the world’s largest choir competition with about 20,000 singers participating annually from around the world.
