Detroit — Police are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old man who was killed Monday night at a party store on the city’s west side, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched at 7:35 p.m. Monday to the Barrel & Bottle Party-Shoppe at the northeast corner of Collingwood and Dexter for a report of a shooting, according to Sgt. Michael Woody.
The 18-year-old victim was inside the store when an unknown person opened the door and fired multiple shots, striking him in the chest, Woody said.
He was rushed to Henry Ford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
There was no description of the shooter and the shooting remains under investigation.
