Red Wings will be on NBC or NBCSN 15 times this season

Detroit – National television still loves the Red Wings.

The team will appear 15 times across NBC Sports Group platforms, it was announced Tuesday.

Included in those dates are three games on NBC on Sunday afternoons -- in Boston on March 8, in Pittsburgh on March 15, and at home against St. Louis on March 22. All three of those games begin at 12:30 p.m.

The Red Wings are slated to appear 12 times on NBC Sports Network, which will televise 89 NHL games total this season.

The Red Wings’ local TV schedule will be announced later.

NBC’s coverage kicks off with an opening night doubleheader on Oct. 8 on NBCSN, starting with Wednesday Night Rivalry coverage at 7:30 p.m.with the Flyers at the Bruins, followed by the Sharks at the Kings at 10 p.m.

NBC will air the NHL Winter Classic between the Blackhawks and Capitals on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m.
