Detroit Consortium basketball star Josh Jackson is transferring to a school in California, according to a report.
The Lexington (Kentucky) Herald-Leader quotes Jackson’s mother, Apples Jones as saying that Jackson is moving to a school that has “higher educational standards” and better basketball completion.
“If you look at Josh’s stats and what he accomplished in those short two years of high school, to me, the numbers were ridiculous,” she said. “It showed me that it’s time to move on.”
Jackson, 6-foot-7, averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, four steals and four blocks last season as a sophomore at Consortium. He was named to The Detroit News Dream Team.
Jackson is rated a five-star prospect and the No. 2 small forward in the nation for the 2016 class by Scout.com.
