Five-star wide receiver Brian Cole of Saginaw Heritage, ranked the No. 5 player at his position for 2015, committed to Michigan on Saturday.

Cole (6-2, 210) chose the Wolverines over Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee, and many other top programs.

"I loved every school that offered me a scholarship," Cole told Allen Trieu of Scout.com. "All the coaches and staffs and supporters that treated me like family, nothing against any of them, but the thing about Michigan was, I wanted to stay closer to home. It felt like home and felt like the place I need to be."

Michigan commitment Alex Malzone, a quarterback from Birmingham Brother Rice, played a big role in Cole's recruitment.

"I like Alex a lot," Cole told Trieu. "He's a leader, and I can tell he will be a great quarterback."

Cole is ranked as the No. 40 prospect overall on the Scout 300 for the 2015 class.
