Detroit Bass Day celebration set for Saturday

Detroit is known for its stellar bass players, and the United Sound Systems Recording Studio in Detroit will host the second annual Detroit Bass Day from noon until midnight Saturday.

Metro Detroit bassists, including Ralphe Armstrong, Nate Watts, Bobby Vega, Brad Russell, Lamont Johnson, Emily Rogers, Edward Tony Green, Kern Brantley, Brandon Rose and Lonnie Motley, will gather to perform ďA Tribute to the Funk.Ē There also will be a group photo, roundtable discussion, a tribute to Don Davis, a raffle of bass-related items, an after-party and jam at Bertís on Broadway, and a bass fashion show.
