Lansing officials investigate sheen on Grand River

Lansing Lansing officials are trying to determine whether an oil-like sheen on the Grand River was the result of normal runoff or a spill.

Chad Gamble, the citys operations director, tells the Lansing State Journal that the city and other public agencies received calls Tuesday about a sheen on the river near the Brenke Fish Ladder.

Lansing saw more than an inch of rain Monday and early Tuesday. Gamble says a sheen can develop from oil or gasoline that washes into the river.
