Mike Weber, a four-star prospect from Detroit Cass Tech and among the highest-rated 2015 running backs in the nation, on Wednesday night committed to Michigan.
Weber, 5-9 and 210 pounds, chose the Wolverines over his other finalists -- Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Southern Cal.
"I have officially committed to the University of Michigan," Weber wrote on Twitter.
Weber attended a Michigan practice on Wednesday, and that's when he informed the Wolverines' coaches of his decision.
“Just to be able to play at home, to have my family watch me play,” Weber told Josh Newkirk of Scout.com, explaining his decision to attend Michigan. “Their depth chart is kind of low. They told me they really wanted me. So I just felt it.”
Scout.com ranks Weber the No. 13 running back in the nation and the No. 104 prospect overall for 2015.
