Fire destroys vacant Detroit church

Detroit Arson investigators are looking into the cause of a large fire that razed a vacant church on the city's far east side Friday, according to Detroit Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 4 a.m. at the former Cityview Missionary Baptist Church in the 2200 block of Coplin, north of Vernor, fire officials said.

Crews were still on the scene as of 8 a.m. The cause of the fire was unclear Friday morning.
