Sunday's Tigers-Blue Jays live tweets: Detroit falls in 19, division lead is half-game

The Tigers will try to bounce back from their late-innings meltdown Saturday against the Blue Jays with a 1:07 p.m. first pitch Sunday in Toronto. David Price makes his second start for the Tigers since being acquired from the Rays.

* Before Sunday’s game the Tigers placed starter Anibal Sanchez and reliever Joakim Soria on the 15-day disabled list. Sanchez strained the major pectoral muscle in his right side on Friday. Soria suffered a strained oblique muscle in his left side Saturday. Manager Brad Ausmus said Sanchez could be out until mid-September.

* Despite carrying a 2-4 record on their current road trip into Sunday’s game, the Tigers rank second in the American League with a .579 road winning percentage (33-24).

* David Price has won six of his last eight starts, with one no-decision, which occurred in his Tigers debut on Tuesday against the Yankees.

* After Sunday the Tigers play four consecutive games against the Pirates – at Pittsburgh on Monday and Tuesday and in Detroit on Wednesday and Thursday.
