Linebacker Daelin Hayes, ranked the No. 1 player in Michigan for 2016, has transferred from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, reportedly to St. Bonaventure High in Ventura, Calif.
“He’s no longer on the team,” OLSM coach George Porritt said Tuesday.
Porritt was looking for big things from Hayes, who has 4.55 speed, feeling he was extra motivated to play at a high level after suffering a shoulder injury during the first game of his sophomore year.
Hayes, a 6-3, 225-pound four-star prospect, has two years of high school football remaining. He is one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation, and last month made a verbal commitment to Southern Cal.
He chose the Trojans over Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Tennessee and many other top programs.
