The Pistons will open their 2014-15 season in a different time zone, in Denver and Minnesota on back-to-back nights on Oct 29-30, according to the NBA schedule, released by the league late Wednesday afternoon.

The Brooklyn Nets will be in town for the Pistons’ home opener on Nov. 1, the start of a four-game homestand that concludes with a date against the Utah Jazz.

The Pistons will get two home looks at LeBron James and the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers, on Jan. 27 and Feb. 24, the second which comes shortly after a lengthy All-Star break. The Pistons won’t play between Feb. 11-20.

The longest home stretch of the season occurs early, from Nov. 26-Dec 9, where one road game will be sandwiched between a total of seven home dates, including a Dec. 7 date against the Oklahoma City Thunder. That will be MVP Kevin Durant’s lone visit to The Palace.

They’ll also have a five-game stretch, which will include a visit from the champion San Antonio Spurs right before the All-Star break.

There doesn’t appear to be many daunting stretches, aside from Feb. 28-March 14, where they’ll play seven of eight on the road, including a West Coast swing in which they’ll meet the Lakers and Golden State Warriors on back-to-back nights before going to Portland and Utah.

Two national TV dates are on the schedule, and for once they don’t appear to be candidates to be bumped for more attractive games. The first is in Atlanta on Martin Luther King Day, and the second is in Chicago on April 3. Both will be televised by ESPN.

Individual game tickets, starting at $10 for the 2014-15 regular season, will go on sale to the general public at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15. They can be purchased at pistons.com.
