The couple that takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together, stays together. Or something like that.
Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander and supermodel girlfriend Kate Upton became the latest celebrities to be doused in ice water to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
In the video, seen above or by clicking here, Verlander challenges his brother Ben, who plays in the Tigers’ farm system; Hall of Fame slugger Frank Thomas; and former tennis star Andy Roddick. Upton challenges Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz, her co-stars in the movie “The Other Woman;” and Bobbi Brown (we’re guessing it’s the makeup magnate and not Whitney Houston ex Bobby Brown).
Upton then proceeds to dump a bucket of water on Verlander, who returns the favor.
Our favorite, challenge so far: Weird Al Yankovic, who got doused, then challenged President Barack Obama, the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis.
