Quick hits

* Miguel Cabrera's two-homer game Monday was the 29th multi-homer game of his career and his 20th multi-homer game with the Tigers. Cabrera is playing DH Tuesday night and Victor Martinez is the first baseman for the second consecutive game. Cabrera has been bothered by a sore right ankle.

* In their major-league debuts on Sunday, James McCann played catcher in the ninth inning and Steven Moya pinch hit, also in the ninth. Moya hit a sharp single to right field but McCann did not get an at-bat.

* Victor Martinez has reached safely in 20 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the American League. During that time, Martinez has compiled a .457 on-base percentage.
