Ernie Harwell's remarkable life

It's fair to say that no one was more beloved in Metro Detroit than Ernie Harwell, the voice of the Detroit Tigers for 42 years. Generations grew up listening to his broadcasts and mimicking his home-run call. Equally respected were his kindness, his humility and his willingness to take time to talk to seemingly everyone who wanted a word with him. This section looks at the life of the Baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster, who died on May 4, 2010 at the age of 92, and the tributes to this much-admired human being.
