    Opel labor leaders say GM shows no signs of breaching pact

    Labor leaders at General Motors Co.'s Opel unit said they have no indication that GM plans to breach a contract that runs through the end of 2014. The contract prevents the carmaker from closing any factories in Europe or laying off workers before that time, Opel's works council said in a statement today. GM is considering closing two factories, one in Germany and the other in the U.K., which employ 5,200 workers, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing unidentified sources.
