  1. Automakers woo Chinese middle class at Shanghai auto show

    Shanghai — Aspiring middle class Chinese consumers are the new target of the world’s top automakers, and at this week’s Auto Shanghai 2013, the focus will be on more expensive and sporty crossover vehicles.

What: The 2013 North American International Auto Show

When: Press preview days Jan. 14-15; industry preview days Jan. 16-7; public show Jan. 19-27

Where: Cobo Center, Detroit

Hours: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily except Jan. 27, which has a 7 p.m. close

Tickets: $12 adults, $6 seniors 65 and older, $6 children 7-12; children 6 and younger free. Available at www.naias.com or at the door.
