    Calling all curious kids

    Though fiscal woes closed the Detroit Science Center in September and the Detroit Children's Museum in January (to the general public, anyway; the latter is open for use by the Detroit Public Schools), there's no shortage of kid-centered institutions offering tons of fun within easy driving distance of the metro area. Local opportunities will get even richer on March 15, when the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History opens its Children's Discovery Center (see box). Read on for good options for curious kids and the adults they bring in tow.

  1. Guns N’ Roses mini tour to play Fillmore Detroit
