Michigan and Michigan State have met at least once per season at Joe Louis Arena since 1990.  The fierce in-state rivalry between the Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan State Spartans continues with the “Duel in the D” at Joe Louis Arena on Friday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Wolverines and Spartans will once again compete for the “Iron D” Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of the annual clash at The Joe. Last season, the Spartans claimed the “Iron D” in the trophy’s inaugural year with a 3-2 overtime win over the Wolverines, but the Wolverines hold the series advantage with a 14-11-4 record.

The Detroit News is giving away tickets to witness the heated battle on the ice!  8 lucky Insiders will each win a pair of tickets to attend the Duel in the D.
