Lunch, history in a shoebox

Patrick Coleman, managing partner of Beans and Cornbread, right, talks about how things were for black people during segregation. He was giving the lesson at Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corp. on Taylor Street in Detroit on Feb. 5, 2018. The History in a Box contains a meal and information about different people in black history. The idea comes from when back people used to tote food in shoe boxes while traveling during segregation because they were not allowed to go to many restaurants.
